Timothy ‘Hok’ Herbert Haukebo, age 73, of Pelican Rapids, passed away surrounded by his loving family on December 20, 2024, at Diamond Willow Assisted living in Detroit Lakes.
Timothy was born January 29, 1951, in Pelican Rapids to Herbert and Olive (Thompson) Haukebo. Timothy was baptized at Bagstevolt (Grace Lutheran) Church and later confirmed at Trinity Lutheran in Pelican Rapids. He graduated from Pelican Rapids High School in 1969 and went on to attend Concordia College for 2 years.
Timothy began his working career with a part time job in a family-owned business from 1965 to 1973. From there he worked for Minnkota Inc in Moorhead from 1973 to 1979. Timothy spent the remainder of his career working for the USPS as a rural mail carrier from 1981 until his retirement in 2009.
At different times throughout his life, Timothy found great enjoyment with activities such as hunting, bowhunting, fishing, mule deer and elk hunting as well as spearing. Finding great joy in the serenity and beauty of nature he also was fond of backpacking, camping, and canoeing. Timothy also found great joy in spending time with family and spending time during winter on the gulf coast.
Timothy lived for many years since 1976 on Prairie Lake in a cabin he built himself.
Timothy is proceeded in death by parents Herb and Olive Haukebo.
Timothy is survived by sister Kris Van, Niece Vanessa Van, Nephew Toby (Amy) Van, Great Nephew Richard Van, Great Niece Mercedez Liljequist, Great Great Nephew Gio’vanni, and Great Great Niece Aiyanna.
A private burial will be held for family at a later date.
