Tim James Tarnowski

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dear loved one, Timmy James Tarnowski, age 59, who left us unexpectedly on March 5, 2024. Tim, a resident of Pelican Rapids, Minnesota, lived a life filled with passion for hunting, outdoors and truck driving.
 
Born on March 5, 1965, Tim was the son of Gilbert and Sharon (Fromdahl) Tarnowski, raised in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota. After earning his degree in Outdoor Power and Snowmobile Technology from Minnesota State Community and Technical College, Tim worked various jobs throughout his career. For a few years he owned and operated 108 Small Engine Repair in Pelican Rapids. Mostly Tim pursued a career that took him on the highways, logging an impressive 4.5 million miles as a trucker. He worked for STS Trucking for several years and since 2014 owned and operated his own trucking business. Tim took great pride in his truck, Max, and his unparalleled skill in navigating a 53' trailer through intricate spaces.
 
On May 14, 1983, Tim married his beloved wife, Tammy Lyden, and together they shared a life full of love, laughter, and cherished memories. His hobbies in life extended to hunting, motorcycles, fishing, and spending time at his recently built hunting cabin near Strathcona, Minnesota, where he found solace in nature and the great outdoors. He also enjoyed spending time with family, especially his grandkids. 
 
Tim will be deeply missed by his wife, Tammy, his children Mike (Courtney) Tarnowski and Jaclyn (Michael) Rude, his three beloved grandchildren: Jackson, Lauren and Olivia, as well as his loving siblings: Sherry Willson, Tom (Starla) Tarnowski, Michelle Siebert, Sharon (Don) Beehler, Eugene (Jill) Tarnowski, Joann Moser, Dan (Sharon) Erb, Jean Brewer, and Gary Tarnowski; sister-in-law Teresa Hanley; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother Michael Erb, and nephews Kevin Hirdler and Kenny Beehler.

A visitation is scheduled for Saturday, March 16, 2024, from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at Central Lutheran Church near Pelican Rapids followed by a memorial service at 11:00 a.m. officiated by Pastor Phil Tobin. 

In the coming days, let us come together to celebrate his life, honor his memory, and find solace in the legacy he leaves behind. Tim's spirit will forever live on in our hearts and minds. May he rest in peace.
