Paul Roger Bredahl

Paul Bredahl, 71, passed away on March 30, 2020 at Emmanuel Nursing Home in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota. Paul was born on July 16, 1948 in Fergus Falls, Minnesota to Joice and Neola (Moen) Bredahl. He lived in and attended school in Pelican Rapids. During vacations he worked for Thompson Painting, City Dray and West Central Turkeys. He attended Community College in Fergus Falls and Moorhead State College graduating with a bachelor’s degree in social work. Paul went into the U.S. Navy and was a corpsman at the Great Lakes Naval Hospital. He received training at the Hospital Corps School as a surgery tech and lived at the hospital. Paul then went to work for the State of Minnesota in Wright and Scott counties as a Child Protection Assessment Intervention Social worker, a position in which he was highly regarded. Paul moved back to Pelican Rapids when his Mom went into the nursing home. Paul liked golf, his cat "Little One", was a gourmet cook, liked to travel, attended many Moody Blues concerts, was an avid reader, a serious sports fan with a great knowledge of statistics and a good friend. Paul was preceded in death by his parents, special aunts Carrie Moen, Clarice Moen, Thora Lundell and cousin Mark Bredahl. Memorials may be sent to Hospice of the Red River Valley, The Pelican Rapids Library, The Pelican Rapids Pool Hall or a charity of choice. Visitation will be from 1-3 p.m. Friday, Oct. 30, at Larson Funeral Home in Pelican Rapids, Minn. A graveside service will be at 3:30 p.m. after the visitation on Friday at Ringsaker Cemetery, Pelican Rapids with Pastor Eric Schwirian officiating. Masks are required.
