“He is beside me.” Soon following those parting words of faith, Patricia Ann Rollie answered God’s call to return Home on March 19th, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. The legacy she leaves behind is the embodiment of love: pure, unconditional, and absolute.
That love began on January 9th, 1953, in Seattle, Washington, when her parents Elizabeth (Lehn) and Norman Craig welcomed her into the world. The second of eight children, she was given the nickname of Peggy by her mother as a tribute to Peggy’s aunt who passed away at the age of three. When Peggy was three, her family moved to Colfax, North Dakota, and thereafter to Battle Lake, Minnesota, where she helped her parents operate a restaurant and attended school. A lover of animals, she raised an Arabian horse named Chico, and later in life gave generously to horse rescue organizations and multiple animal charities.
After graduating from Battle Lake High School in 1972, Peggy attended the St. Cloud School of Nursing. She earned her nursing degree in 1974, spending the majority of her career as a Registered Nurse at Lake Region Hospital in Fergus Falls. Her calling to become a nurse was perfectly befitting of who she was, deeply caring and dedicated to those in need.
She met her life partner in Daniel Rollie, and soon after they started their life together in marriage on March 30th, 1979. Her children and grandchildren were always the center of her world, to whom she devoted her life with love and affection. Nana was their foundation of compassion and comfort, demonstrating unwavering dedication towards their lives and activities.
She always had a passion for travel, and her yearning for adventure and discovery led her to beautiful destinations around the world. But it was the solitude and serenity of a hike through nature with loved ones that brought her the greatest sense of peace and bliss.
Nana was a devoted and affectionate mother, grandmother, and wife, who lived a beautiful, inspiring, and faithful life. She brought love and joy to all who knew her, and shall forever more. Blessed be her memory.
She has now joined in Heaven her parents, her brother, Robert Paul Craig, and grandchildren, Forrest and Christian. Her loved ones who await to be reunited with her are her husband Dan, son Justin, daughter Alicia (Justin) Olson, son Erik (Erin), and grandchildren Chase, Ella, Everleigh, and Everett. Joining her family in mourning are her siblings Terry Lindenfelser, Rick Craig, Norma (Keith) Kragerud, Russ (Lori) Craig, Mary Craig, and Loni Heldt, along with her brother and sisters-in-law Tom (Charlotte) Rollie, Cheryl (Lee) Brenna, Lynn (Bob) Lundquist, Beth Rollie, and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of monetary offerings, Peggy would be incredibly grateful to have all donations directed towards Metavivor, a charitable organization she ardently supported whose tenet is to find encouraging new treatments for metastatic breast cancer.
