Patricia “Pat -Patty” Erickson, 79, of Long Lake near Vergas, MN, went to heaven on Thursday, July 28th, 2022, at the Mahnomen Health Center, Mahnomen, Minnesota. Pat was born at 1:33 pm, June 16, 1943, at the Ancker Hospital in St. Paul, MN to Bernard “Bud” and Grace (Bakeman) Hoffman. Pat grew up in the Maplewood Hills of Erhard, where her Grandma Rickenberg raised her until the time of her death. Then Pat moved to San Bernardino, CA for a short while, before returning to Minnesota. She met the love of her life Randy Erickson at Abrahams Resort on Star Lake, Dent MN. They were married 3 months later on November 13, 1961, in Webster, SD. Randy and Pat built a home on Star Lake where their two boys, Boyd & John were born. Randy worked at Ottertail Power Company, they relocated a few times to Parkers Prairie, Fergus Falls, then to Pelican Rapids for his job. They lived in Pelican from 1970-2018 before moving to the Lake House on Long Lake, Vergas, MN until the time of her death. Pat worked at the Viking Elementary school’s cafeteria and Larry’s Supermarket in Pelican until she retired. She was known for her friendly demeanor, big smile with a sparkle in her eye. She was very smart, meticulous, neat and organized. She had an order and a place for everything in her world. She also never turned down a big hug or a bit of humor. Most of all Pat loved her family. Her grand babies were all she talked about to whomever she conversed with. Her grandchildren revitalized life in her declining health. Mom loved reading and watching Westerns. She also enjoyed taking pen to paper and filled numerous note pads with her thoughts and doodles. Pat also loved to bake and everyone enjoyed her tasty treats. Pat enjoyed spending times with her close friends and talking on the phone to her relatives. She also truly appreciated her new family the Krabbenhofts. She often said how lucky we were to get such good in-laws in Douglas, Michael and Eric. She always said the “best time of her life” was when traveling around to watch her boys play sports. She also never “fessed up” to liking Minnesota Sports teams, but if you asked her about them, she knew exactly what was going on with the Vikings and Twins. She was the best mother and loyal friend anyone could ask for. Pat will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. -Love you Forever and Always Mom- Patricia is survived by her husband of 61 years Randy, Vergas, MN; sons: Boyd (Pam) Erickson, Maurice, Iowa, John (Kristi) Erickson, Moorhead, MN; 5 grandchildren: Kyra (Shane) Huisman, Brynn (Brody) De Jagers, Krislyn (Jose) Vergara, Esabella and Elyssa Erickson; 5 great-grandchildren: Treyton, Macy & Malea Huisman; and Paisley & Mila De Jager; 2 brothers-in-law Amos Erickson and Earnie (Shirley) Erickson; half-brother John Hicks; step-brother Robert Pourrier; half-sister Sharlene; step-sister Roberta; and many nieces and nephews.
