Lillian Irene (Anderson) Kratzke, age 88, died Wednesday, November 8th, 2017 at Pelican Valley Care Center, Pelican Rapids, following a long battle with Alzheimer's Disease. Lillian was born on November 4th, 1929 near Lake Park, MN to Willie and Cora (Dale) Anderson. She attended grade school near their home, then graduated from Lake Park High School. On December 8th, 1947 Lillian married Raymond Kratzke at Lake Ida Church. She worked beside her husband, farming near Vergas until 1956 when they moved to Pelican Rapids. Through the years, Lillian cared for their home and family. She was active in the Ladies Aid at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, and the neighborhood birthday club. Babysitting the grandkids was a favorite activity and she treasured spending time with family and friends. Lillian had a life-long love of music, becoming accomplished as an organist, pianist, accordionist, and vocalist. For years, she and her husband, Ray, frequently entertained the residents of area Nursing Homes, Assisted Living Centers, and played at community activities. Lillian was an avid reader who also enjoyed quiet evenings at their cabin on Crystal Lake. Lillian is survived by her husband, Raymond Kratzke; her children Darla Yanish, Leon ( Karin) Kratzke, both Pelican Rapids; and Nita Velo, Sabin MN. Grandchildren: Will Kratzke, Gwendelyn Kratzke, Brenda ( Ryan) Ness, Eddie "Max"(Piper) Velo, Martin Yanish all Pelican Rapids, Kelsey Velo, San Luis Obispo, CA and Alanna Velo, Fargo. Lillian is also survived by one great-grandchild, Ava Ness, Pelican Rapids, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers Obert (Gladys) Anderson and Charles (Lizbeth) Anderson, and one sister Hazel (Leslie) Lovold.
