Keith Stromberg

Keith Stromberg, 67, died Sunday, August 30, 2020, at his home in Pelican Rapids, MN. Keith Alan was born October 18, 1952, in Fergus Falls, MN, to Herb and Evelyn (Peterson) Stromberg. He graduated from Pelican Rapids High School in 1970. After graduation Keith worked with his uncle, Norman Lundhagen, for a period of time as a carpenter. Then Keith attended Moorhead Tech. studying the Culinary Arts. He worked at the Elks Lodge and Becker’s Supper Club, both in Fergus Falls for a few years. On February 2, 1974 he was united in marriage with Renee Knutson at Trinity Lutheran Church in Pelican Rapids. After their marriage they moved to Billings, Montana where Keith was manager and head chef at The Chalet. Keith and Renee returned to Pelican Rapids where he was the manager and chef at SERS café. In 1976 he began to work for Norman Lundhagen as a carpenter. That developed into Keith owning and operating his own construction business for a number of years. His son, Jamie, joined him and the business changed to Keith Stromberg and Sons Construction. From 2004 to 2008 he was part-owner of The Club in Pelican Rapids. He was still working construction and most recently with his son, Kale. Keith was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Maplewood Bass Club and the NRA (National Rifle Association). He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and golfing. Keith always looked forward to the annual prairie dog hunting trip with family and friends. Keith is survived by his wife, Renee; sons: Jamie (Dawn) Stromberg, Pelican Rapids, Kale Stromberg, Pelican Rapids, and Norwegian son, Knut Gran; 3 grandchildren: Brittany (Josh) Villareal, Kylee (Cody Woehl) Beringer, and Gage Stromberg; great-grandchildren: Aiden and Gavin; siblings: Eileen Brown, Dianne (Gene “Big Bro”) Lundhagen, Sharon (David) Bratlie, Sherill Ohe, Marilyn (Jeff) Mahlum, Charlie (Denise) Stromberg, and Bonnie (Jim) Rogers; sister-in-law Anita Reece; and many nieces and nephews He is preceded in death by his parents; and brother-in-law Vince Reece.
