Judy Carol Madison

Judy (Jacobson) Madison, age 73, of Detroit Lakes, MN, died Monday, January 14, 2019 at her residence in Detroit Lakes, MN. Judy Carol was born July 31, 1945 in Pelican Rapids, MN, to Hjalmer and Ida (Solen) Jacobson. She grew up and attended school in Pelican Rapids, graduating from Pelican Rapids High School in 1964. Following her graduation, she lived in California, Oregon, and Virginia, before returning to Minnesota. Judy worked as a hairstylist at Bonnie Lee and Jonathon’s Hair Salon in Detroit Lakes for many years. She also worked at Bergen’s Greenhouse and Menards in the flower and garden center. Judy enjoyed crafts, sewing, flowers, bingo, pull-tabs, and taking trips to Shooting Star Casino in Mahnomen.  She received a Green Thumb award for her gardening. Judy was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and Zion Lutheran Church Garden Club. Judy is survived by her children: Jason (Kelly) Sandusky, Keri Fesler-Sandusky, Steven Madison; two grandchildren: Gunnar (Tess) Landry and Dawson Landry; one great-grandchild Jaxson Landry; sisters: twin-sister Jane (Michael) Stokes, Donna Austen, Vivian Cabrel, Lola Oien, Sandra Huebsch; brothers: Duane (Sharon) Jacobson and Gerald Jacobson; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; sisters: Marian, Verda, Velma, Barbara; and brother Tony.   Services will be held later in the spring.   Please keep the Madison family in your thoughts and prayers.
