Helen Marie (Martinson) Seidell, age 78, of Pelican Rapids, MN, died Monday, March 19, 2018 at her residence under the care of Red River Valley Hospice. Helen Marie Seidell was born to William and Ovidia O. (Vange) Martinson in Audubon, MN on April 25, 1939. She was baptized in Aspelund Church in Flom, MN. She was confirmed in Egelund Church in Detroit Lakes, MN. She graduated from Detroit Lakes High School in 1958. At that time she went to work as a cook for St. Mary’s Health Center in Detroit Lakes until 1975 when she married Dennis B. Seidell on June 21, 1975 at Grace Lutheran Church in Detroit Lakes. At that time she became a farmwife. A year later they were blessed with a son. She would hold down the home front while Dennis was at work. Dennis passed away on October 8, 2014. She always had a flower and vegetable garden. She liked canning and baking, especially at Christmas. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Pelican Rapids. She was active in church circle where she was chairperson for many years. She was deeply rooted to her faith. She was a very special wife and mom. She always cherished her family. On your birthday you always got a three layer lemon cake with white egg frosting and lemon filling. She is survived by her son, Harlen Seidell, Pelican Rapids; brothers: David and Dean Martinson, Detroit Lakes; sisters: Judy Nelson, Osage, Arlene Meyer, Park Rapids; brother-in-law, Robert (Carolyn) Seidel, Fairmont, MN. She is preceded in death by her husband, Dennis; parents; sisters: Esther Jorgenson, Marilyn Honer and Carol Mott; brothers: Douglas, Dale and Bobby; brother-in-law, David Seidell. Visitation: Friday, March 23, 2018, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Larson Funeral Home, Pelican Rapids, MN. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church. Funeral Service: 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 24, 2018, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Pelican Rapids, Minnesota.
