Eugene "Geno" Glen Krause

With a heavy heart, we bid farewell to Glenn “Geno” Eugene Krause of Detroit Lakes, Minnesota, who passed away at the age of 90 on Thursday, June 6, 2024, at Pelican Valley Senior Living.

Born on January 4, 1934, Eugene's journey began in Maple Grove Township near Detroit Lakes, Minnesota, to parents Albert and Sophia (Sanden) Krause. His life was marked by dedicated service, including a stint in the United States Army during the Korean War, where he honed his skills as a helicopter mechanic and Morse code interceptor.

Following his military service, Geno ventured to Seattle, Washington where he worked at the Boeing Company, before returning to his roots in Detroit Lakes. There, he worked for Coca-Cola plant and later worked more than 30 years at Foltz Trucking, leaving an indelible mark on the community.

His passions were as diverse as his experiences, whether he was connecting with others through ham radio, casting lines while fishing, or racing through snow-covered landscapes on a snowmobile. Geno's love for the outdoors was evident in all he did.
