Dianne Berg

Dianne Berg, 76, a resident of Moorhead, Minnesota, formerly of Pelican Rapids, died on Tuesday, September 28, 2021 at her home with her family by her side. Dianne was born May 20, 1945, the daughter of Clarence and Helen (Hansen) Swanson in Monticello, MN. She attended Saron Lutheran Church in Big Lake, MN. Dianne graduated from Big Lake High School in 1963. Dianne went on to receive a bachelor’s degree in sociology from St. Cloud State. On November 23, 1968, Dianne was united in marriage to Ronald Berg in Big Lake, MN. Dianne worked in social work at a prison in Midland, Michigan. Then Dianne stayed at home and raised her family. They moved back to Big Lake and then on to West Fargo. In 1986 they moved to Pelican Rapids where she worked in special needs for PATH in Fergus Falls. For many years Dianne worked for State Farm Insurance in Pelican Rapids until she retired. Dianne was a member of Central Lutheran Church and active in the church council and other church groups. She enjoyed gardening, walking, sewing, cooking, baking, fishing, and golfing. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren, especially on Middle Cormorant Lake. She is survived by her son Ryan (Kerrie) Berg with their children: Caden, Carly and Claire; son Eric Berg with his children: Laila, Jaxon and Campbell; brothers: Kenneth Swanson, Dennis (Vera) Swanson, Marvin (Sherry) Swanson, and Orville (Anne) Swanson; sister Barbara (Jack) Leeman; and numerous nieces and nephews. Dianne is preceded in death by her parents Clarence and Helen, husband Ronald; sister Shirley (Duane) Anderson; sister LaVerne (Marty) Govednik. Visitation: One hour prior to the service at the church Service: 11:00 a.m., Monday, October 4, 2021 at Central Lutheran Church, near Pelican Rapids, MN with Pastor Phillip E. Tobin officiating.
