Delores Ann Koland

Delores Koland, age 84, a resident of Pelican Rapids, Minnesota, died Tuesday, August 4, 2020 at Riverfront on Main, Pelican Rapids, MN under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley. Delores Ann Halvorson was born June 6, 1936, the daughter of Allard and Myrtle (Kleven) Halvorson. She grew up and graduated from high school in Stephen, MN. On December 28, 1954, she was married to George “Ted” Koland in Stephen, MN. They made their home in Grand Forks, ND, Moorhead, MN and in the summer of 1971 Ted remodeled the family cabin on Lake Lizzie in rural Pelican Rapids into a year round home and relocated the family there. Delores enjoyed doing volunteer work at the Pass It On Ministry, reading, going for walks, shopping, watching NBA basketball, dancing, and making Pizzelles. She loved animals, (especially cats), and anything chocolate. She is survived by her daughters: Teddi (Stan) Zierke, Debbi (Peter) Restad all of Pelican Rapids, and son Keith (Heidi) Koland of Maple Grove, MN; six grandchildren: Tyler (Tracy) Jordan, Casey (Amber), Sarah (Tony), Parker, and Kellen; six great grandchildren: Chase, Lauryn, Mckynlie, Brynlee, Charlie, and Ellie Lou, her sister Bonnie Jean (Ken) Boe, Alexandria, MN, brother in law, Jack (Izzy) Koland, Pelican Rapids, sisters in law: Mary Hanson, Goodyear, AZ, and Judy Pinkerton, Sartell, MN, extended family Barb (Vic) VanEnk of High River, Alberta, and numerous nieces and nephews. Delores was preceded in death by her husband Ted, daughter Bonnie Rae and great granddaughter Gracie Ann Zierke. Private family service will be held at a later date with Allen Westby, S.A.M. officiating with burial at Ringsaker Cemetery, Pelican Rapids, Minnesota. Delores's Memorial Folder
