David Nudell, 68, a resident of rural Pelican Rapids and Oklahoma City, died on June 24, 2022 at his home on Tamarac Lake. David Dale Nudell, was born December 3, 1953, in Valley City, ND, to Dale and Dalene (Wadeson) Nudell. David grew up in the Browns Valley area and graduated from Browns Valley High School in 1971. On September 3, 1971, David was united in marriage to Mary Metz in Sisseton, South Dakota. He attended Alexandria Technical College in Alexandria, Minnesota. David and Mary owned and operated a farm in Enderlin, ND, until 2001, when they sold the farm to Olson Farms. David was a part-owner of Fingal State Bank and served on the board for a number of years. In the spring of 2002, David and Mary moved to Tamarac Lake near Pelican Rapids. He owned and operated the Capitol Family Restaurant in Casselton, ND. Mary passed away on April 3, 2009. He then met a special lady, Cynthia Sue Hutchinson. They were married January 30, 2010 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. For many years, David was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Enderlin, serving as treasurer and teaching Sunday School. He was the president of the Skyhaven Airport in Enderlin and a member of the Tamarac Lake Association. He also was a member of the Heartland Apostolic Prayer Network in Oklahoma City. David made many memories traveling. Some of the highlights include trips to Hawaii, Alaska,Cancun and Europe. He was also an avid hunter and fisherman. David enjoyed drives in the lake country but most of all spending time with his family, especially grandchildren. David is survived by his wife Cyndi; son Micheal (Trina) Nudell with their children Kailee, Kasen, Kylen, and Kamden; daughter Michelle (Mike) Ballou with their children Jessica (Josh) Kuehn and Emily Ballou; son Aaron (Jill) Nudell and their children Owen and Evan; sister Carla (Jan) Medbery; brothers-in-law Paul (Donni) Schaunaman, Robert (Karen) Metz, Don (Mary) Metz, David (Julie) Metz; mother-in-law Shirley Metz; father-in-law Roy W. Hutchinson; sister-in-law Kathy (Calvin) Baldwin, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Mary, parents, sisters Donna (Milo) Magnan and Kathleen Schaunaman. Memorials preferred to Tamarac Lake Assn. and Skyhaven Airport. Visitation will be Friday, July 1, 2022, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Enderlin, North Dakota, from 12:00-1:00 p.m. followed by a Memorial Service at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Frank Dobos officiating.
