David Edward Hagen, Sr.

David Hagen, Sr., age 82, of Pelican Rapids, MN, died Tuesday, November 2, 2021 at his home. David Edward was born on August 8, 1939 in Pelican Rapids, MN, to Clinton and Ellen (Haugerud) Hagen. He attended school in Pelican Rapids, graduating from Pelican Rapids High School in 1957. After high school, David served in the Army Reserves. After serving in the reserves, he went to school at Wahpeton State School of Science where he studied electronics. David worked at Coast to Coast (Ace Hardware) as a TV repairman. Then he went to work at American Crystal Sugar in Moorhead, MN as a Journeyman 1st Class until he retired in 2005. He also farmed his whole life. On November 14, 1965 David married Lynne Ann Clements until she died in 2018. Dave was a jack of all trades. He enjoyed golfing and loved farming and tractors. He also liked spending time at the Pelican Rapids Pool Hall with his friends. He is survived by sons: John Hagen, David Hagen Jr.; sisters: Carole (Darrell) Odegaard, Margaret Bloomgren; brother Clyde (Cindy) Hagen; twelve grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. David is preceded in death by his parents Clinton and Ellen Hagen, wife Lynne; sons: Jeffery and Steven Hagen; brothers: Charles and Mark Hagen; brother-in-law Marvin Bloomgren. Visitation: Monday, November 8, 2021, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Grove Lake Lutheran Church, rural Pelican Rapids, MN.
