Connie Joanne Grotte

Connie (Haugrud) Grotte, age 57, of Dilworth, MN, died Monday, January 29, 2018 at her residence. Connie Joanne was born September 20, 1960 in Pelican Rapids, MN, to Mike and Patricia (Swanson) Haugrud. She attended school in Pelican Rapids and graduated from Pelican Rapids High School in 1978. Following her graduation she worked in the nursing field as a CNA and a universal worker. She also did some chef’s training and worked as a cook for a few years. On October 8, 2005 she married Kerry Grotte in Heartland Park in Park Rapids, MN. Connie was very kind and had a giving heart, she would give a helping hand to anyone in need. She enjoyed going to thrift stores and finding treasure such as purses.  She liked watching her favorite TV shows like Walker Texas Ranger and the Little House on the Prairie. Connie is survived by her husband, Kerry; three sons: Nathan (Sheylin Natividad) Heiberg, Dilworth, MN; Lucas (Rachel Chepulis) Heiberg, Devils Lake, ND; and Cole Heiberg, West Fargo, ND; five brothers: Gaylen Haugrud, Terry (Denise Smischny) Haugrud, Jeff (Peggy) Haugrud, Brian (Kelly) Haugrud, and Daniel Haugrud; sister, Diane Hanson; longtime friend, Daniel Heiberg, and many nieces and nephews. ­­­­Connie is preceded in death by her parents; brother-in-law, Ted Hanson.
