Carol Baughman

Carol Baughman, 76, of Pelican Rapids, formerly Thief River Falls, MN died on Tuesday, December 14, 2021, under the care of the Pelican Valley Health Center and Hospice of the Red River Valley with her loving family by her side.

Carol Jean was born January 9, 1945, in Fergus Falls, MN the daughter of David and Florence (Nordquist) Heisler. She graduated from Pelican Rapids High School in 1963. Then Carol worked as a waitress at the Cers Café and the B & L Café in Pelican Rapids.

On August 3, 1974 Carol married Raymond Baughman in Pelican Rapids. Carol and Raymond moved to Thief River Falls in 1976. During their time in Thief River Falls, Carol worked for Kmart and JCPenney. They moved back to Pelican Rapids in 2018. Carol lived at the Riverfront on Main before just recently moving to the nursing home.

Carol enjoyed crocheting blankets for her nieces and nephews. She also enjoyed watching the Minnesota Vikings, Minnesota Twins, and all kinds of sports. At her time at Riverfront on Main she enjoyed playing cards, whist, bingo, Wii bowling, and other group activities.

Carol is survived by sisters: Penny Jenkins and Idell (David) Cihak; brothers: Larry (Lisa) Heisler, Jim (Nancy) Heisler, and Alan Heisler; 18 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchild; four stepchildren: Anne (Clifford) Fujii, Cindy (John) Neuman, Connie Baughman, and Beth (Dana) Hodges, and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by parents; husband Raymond; brother David Heisler and baby brother Keith.

Memorials preferred to the Pelican Valley Health Center and Hospice of the Red River Valley.

Funeral Service will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 18, 2021 at Larson Funeral Home in Pelican Rapids with Allen Westby, S.A.M. officiating. Visitation one hour prior to service at the funeral home. Facemasks are recommended.

Interment will be at the Lake View Cemetery in Pelican Rapids.
