Bonnie Bring

Bonnie Bring passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 6, 2024, at the age of 81, in the comfort of her home on Lake Lida, under the gentle care of Hospice of the Red River Valley.

Born on January 26, 1943, to Otto and Hazel (Mehus) Satrom, Bonnie grew up near Galesburg, North Dakota, and attended Mayville Teachers College. She was united in marriage with her beloved Lyle Bring on May 29, 1963, and together they farmed and raised their three children near Galesburg.  They retired in 1987, and in 1989, relocated to their home on the shores of Lake Lida.

Bonnie spent years as a 4-H leader in Galesburg and as a Sunday School teacher at Stordahl Lutheran Church.   She was involved with the Pelican Friends of the Library, the Pass It On ministry, Trinity Quilters and golfing.  She loved time at the lake - from coffee on the deck in the morning to evenings of games and conversation with friends.

Bonnie was a loving spouse and mother as well as a caring friend, but she pulled out all the stops for her grandchildren.  This was especially true when they introduced Camp Lida – a week each summer when all of the grandkids gathered at the lake – No Parents Allowed!  Camp Lida grew to become the most anticipated week of their summer – possibly of their year!

Bonnie is survived by her devoted husband Lyle; children: Wendy (LeRoy) Kuntz, Waconia, MN, Jesse (Wendy) Bring, Galesburg, ND, Jason (Vonda) Bring, Galesburg, ND; grandchildren: Jacob (Ellen) Kuntz, Hannah Kuntz, Ben Bring, Hayden Bring, Noah (Haeley Stephen) Bring, A.J. Bring, Theron Bring, Shelby Bring; great-grandchildren: Kari Kuntz, Grayson Bring, Parker Bring; brother John (Lori) Satrom, Galesburg, ND; sisters Nola (Mark) Schmitt, Weyerhaeuser, WI, Lora Cunningham, Portland, ND; brother-in-law Duane (Diane) Bring, sister-in-law Susan Bring and numerous nieces and nephews.

She reunites in peace with her parents, granddaughter Brittanee Bring, brothers-in-law: J. Michael Cunningham, Curtis Bring.

There will be a memorial service celebrating Bonnie’s life at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 13, 2024, Trinity Lutheran Church in Pelican Rapids with Pastor Eric Schwirian and Allen Westby, S.A.M. officiating.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service in the church.  

Interment will be at a later date at Stordahl Cemetery, Galesburg, North Dakota
