Box 327, Pelican Rapids, MN 56572. Betty (Stephenson) Ishaug, age 90, of Pelican Rapids, MN, died Monday, May 25, 2020 at Riverfront of Main, Pelican Rapids, MN. Betty Norma was born February 27,1930 in Pelican Rapids, MN, to Norman and Birdella (Bentrud) Stephenson. She was baptized and confirmed in the West North Immanuel Lutheran Church. She attended country school near Pelican Rapids. On March 21, 1948 Betty was united in marriage to Jewell Ishaug at North Immanuel Lutheran Church, after having dated for two years. Betty assisted Jewell on the family farm until 1985, they remained on the farm until they moved into Pelican Rapids in October of 1993. She also waitressed at a café in Pelican Rapids. She was a caretaker for her sister Carol Mae “Tootsie”. And in her later years, she took care of her mom-in-law Johanna. Jewell died on February 25, 2013. Betty enjoyed music and loved to bake especially donuts. She was a lifetime member of North Immanuel Lutheran Church, ladies aid, and taught Sunday school. She is survived by two children: Kelly, Bloomington, MN, and Renee (Tim) Solmon, Pelican Rapids, MN; four grandchildren: Ryan (Heidi) Ishaug, Jennifer (Chad) Ishaug, Melissa (Don) McDougall, Matthew Jenison; ten great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law: Doris Ishaug and Carol Ann Stephenson; brother-in-law Marvin Holm. Betty is preceded in death by her husband, sister Carol Mae, brother Richard, baby brother Jewell, daughter-in-law Jean Ishaug, sister-in-law Florence (Russell) Skunberg, brothers-in-law Orphey Ishaug and Burnette Ishaug.
