Anna Mae Fossen

Anna Mae Fossen, 95, a resident of Pelican Valley Senior Living in Pelican Rapids, MN entered her heavenly home on March 4, 2022.

Anna Mae Peterson was born February 12, 1927, in Pelican Rapids, the daughter of Clarence and Theoline (Toso) Peterson. Anna Mae grew up in the Pelican Rapids area and graduated from Pelican Rapids High School in 1944. During high school, Anna Mae worked at the local theater in Pelican Rapids. After graduating from high school, she attended beauty school in St. Paul, Minnesota.

On December 4, 1949, she was united in marriage with Roy Fossen in Pelican Rapids. Anna Mae was a self-employed hairstylist working out of her home. Later, for many years she worked for Dr. Albright as a dental assistant until her retirement. Anna Mae and Roy enjoyed their home of 15 years at Lake Lida before moving back into Pelican Rapids.

Anna Mae and Roy enjoyed spending time with family and adored their grandchildren. They enjoyed pontooning, snowmobiling, gardening, and golfing.  In her spare time, she liked to make quilts, paint, play cards, and go shopping with her girls.  She was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church, church circle, a life member of the Women’s Auxiliary, girl scout leader, LRTA, Red Hats, and women’s golf league. Most recently, Anna Mae enjoyed doing puzzles and spending time with both old and new friends.

Anna Mae is survived by her daughters: Lizabeth (John) Tredennick, Kristine (Gary) Dillon; son: Richard (Janie Mullikin) Fossen, all of Pelican Rapids; 6 grandchildren: Jessica (Jeff) Brown, Jared (Erin) Grefsrud, Emily (Dylan) Evenson, Tracey (Bryce Bergren) Dillon, Matthew and Hannah Fossen,  5 great-grandchildren: Chase and Tatum Brown, Harrison and Effie Grefsrud, and Adelyn Evenson; sister Sal Levorsen, Ferndale, WA; brother-in-law Carroll (Jean) Anderson, Elbow Lake, MN; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Roy, siblings: Ina (Herman) Jenzer, Harriet (Cliff) Swanson, Clarence Jr. (Marlys), Olivene “Petie" (Lester) Hauger; brother-in-law Larry Levorsen, sisters-in-law: Eleanor (Earl) Christopherson, Clara (Lester) Thompson, and Delpha Anderson.

Memorials preferred to Trinity Lutheran Church, Pelican Rapids, MN.

Visitation: Friday, March 11, 2022, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, Pelican Rapids, MN. 

Memorial Service: 11:00 a.m., Friday, March 11, 2022, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Pelican Rapids, Minnesota with Pastor Allen Westby, S.A.M. officiating.

Spring Interment: Bagstevold, Erhard, Minnesota
