REMEMBERING THE LIFE OF...Robert Quintin Haugrud was born March 5, 1921, in rural Pelican Rapids, the son of Martin and Josephine (Arntson) Haugrud. He was baptized and confirmed at Grove Lake Lutheran Church in rural Pelican Rapids. Robert attended Sand Lake School District #217 near Pelican Rapids. He farmed in the Pelican Rapids area all his life, and for numerous years also worked at West Central Turkeys, Inc.In October 2005 Robert entered the Pelican Valley Nursing Home.Robert was a very hard worker, kind, and generous person and will be remembered for his giving nature. He loved his family very much and enjoyed spending time with them. Robert enjoyed fishing and gardening, giving produce to family and friends. He was also a beekeeper. His faithful dog, Pete, was also his best friend. He was a lifelong member of Grove Lake Lutheran Church.Robert, age 85, a resident of Pelican Rapids, Minnesota, died on Sunday, February 11, 2007, at the Pelican Valley Nursing Home in Pelican Rapids.He is survived by 3 brothers, Marvin (Clarice) Haugrud, Mike Haugrud and LeRoy Haugrud, all of Pelican Rapids; sister, Verna Anderson of Fergus Falls, MN; sister-in-law, Marian Haugrud of Pelican Rapids; 2 brothers-in-law: Kenneth Lein of Fergus Falls, MN, and Obert Aaberg of Rothsay, MN; and many nieces and nephews.He is preceded in death by his parents; 3 sisters: Helen Lein, Violet (Donald) Christenson and Jeanette Aaberg; 3 brothers: Milo, George and Orville; sister-in-law, Patricia Haugrud; and brother-in-law, Clarence Anderson.Memorials are preferred to Grove Lake Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, Lakeland Hospice, or donor's choice.Blessed Be The Memory Of Robert Haugrud
