REMEMBERING THE LIFE OF...Jessie "Irma" Leek was born September 4, 1913, in Gillette, Iowa, the daughter of Lawrence and Jessie (Thompson) Webb. On April 27, 1931 Irma was united in marriage to Grant Leek in Emmetsburg, Iowa. Grant and Irma lived in Omaha, Nebraska, for many years. In 1953 Grant and Irma moved to Pelican Rapids where they owned and operated Maple Beach Resort on Lake Lida until their retirement in 1971. Grant died on February 28, 1986. Irma has maintained her home on Lake Lida and spent the winter months in California. Irma will always be remembered as a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother and friend.Jessie "Irma" Leek, age 93, a resident of Pelican Rapids, Minnesota, died on Wednesday, March 7, 2007, in Murrieta, California, surrounded by family members.Irma is survived by her 2 daughters: Glee Cantalibre (John Miller) of Murrieta, CA, and Gwen Nelson (Daryl Peacock) of Plymouth, MN; 11 grandchildren: Eileen (Doug), Karen (Paul), Mark, Gerri, Micki, Dori (Bryan), Kevin (Rosi), Connie (Jeff), Lori, Brenda, and Steve (Susan); 16 great-grandchildren: Jennifer (Jim), Scott (Kristen), Amber, Jason, Garrett, Michaela, Joshua, Andrew, Josh, Mitch, Emilee, Grace, Kelli, Matt, Jenni and Derek; 7 great-great-grandchildren: Kaylee, Jayden, Maren, Jessily, Brenna, Meghan and Nathan; other relatives and many dear, dear friends.
