Anita Thomson

REMEMBERING THE LIFE OF...Anita Gerd Peterson was born October 3, 1920, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, the daughter of Christ and Esther (Mastrud) Peterson. On August 4, 1943 she entered the United States Army and served as a surgical technician until February 2, 1946. After her discharge Anita attended the University of Minnesota, graduating Suma Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Horticulture. On June 29, 1957 Anita was united in marriage to Fred Thomson in Nashua, Iowa. She was employed with Honeywell in Minneapolis. In 1976 Fred and Anita moved to the Maplewood Township farm, near Pelican Rapids. Shortly after Fred's death in 1979, Anita retired from Honeywell at the age of 62.Anita loved to read and loved the Pelican Rapids library. She enjoyed flowers and nature, and Pelican Rapids. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and TOPPS. Anita, age 86, a resident of Pelican Rapids, Minnesota, died on Friday, March 23, 2007, at the Pelican Valley Nursing Home in Pelican Rapids.Anita is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Fred; infant son, Kenneth; 2 sisters: Lorraine Whaley and Mae Urness; and brother, Floyd Peterson.Blessed Be The Memory Of Anita ThomsonMemorials preferred to Pelican Rapids Library and Trinity Lutheran Church.
