Yvonne Tweten

Yvonne Elene Souers was born February 21, 1927, in Moorhead, MN. After graduating from high school, she attended Concordia College and Fairview School of Nursing. On June 12, 1949 Yvonne married her college classmate, Lyle Tweten. Yvonne began a career later in life with the the United States Foreign Service. It included many temporary overseas duty assignments, and she was also stationed in Mali and the Congo, Africa. Upon retirement she and Lyle opened a Bed and Breakfast near Vergas, The Loghouse and Homestead on Spirit Lake.Yvonne, age 80, passed away on Monday, May 14, 2007, at her home from ALS, Lou Gerhig's disease, under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley.She is survived by her husband, Lyle of rural Vergas; 3 daughters: Patrice (Mark) Allen of Cincinnati, Ohio, Michele Gervais of El Salvador, and Suzanne Tweten of Vergas; 1 granddaughter; 4 grandsons; and 2 great-grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her parents; and 2 sisters: Faye Rastedt and Lorraine Melquist.Blessed Be The Memory Of Yvonne Tweten
