William "Bill" Sherbrooke

William LeRoy Sherbrooke was born November 19, 1930, in Pelican Rapids, Minnesota, the son of Edward and Alvina (Peterson) Sherbrooke. Bill graduated from Audubon High School in 1948. After his graduation, he farmed with his dad until he entered the military. On June 6, 1954 William was united in marriage to Adeline Wischnak at Loon Lake Lutheran Church in Vergas, MN. Bill served in the United States Army from October 1954 to July 1956. In 1960 Bill farmed the Sherbrooke family homestead until his retirement in 2004.Bill enjoyed square dancing, crossword puzzles, gardening and cutting wood. He was a member of Cormorant Lutheran Church, and the Odd Fellows Lodge in Detroit Lakes, MN.Bill, age 76, passed away on Friday, June 15, 2007, at the Sunnyside Care Center in Lake Park, MN.Bill is survived by his wife, Adeline of Pelican Rapids; 2 sons: Curt Sherbrooke of Bismarck, North Dakota, and Kevin Sherbrooke of Pelican Rapids; daughter: Susan (Clay) Abel of Pelican Rapids; 3 grandchildren: Jordan Sherbrooke, and Colt and Cy Abel; brother, Robert (Ann) Sherbrooke of Pelican Rapids; sister, Marion Lage of Pelican Rapids; and several nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents.Blessed Be The Memory Of William "Bill" Sherbrooke
