Howard Charles Motz was born April 12, 1914, in Pelican Rapids, the son of Fred and Grace (Bolam) Motz. On October 29, 1938 Howard was united in marriage to Agnes Sundblad in Sisseton, South Dakota. Howard and Agnes farmed in rural Erhard most of their marriage. Howard also worked as a postal carrier, and owned and operated the Union 76 station in Erhard. He retired in 1982. In September of 2003 Howard entered the Good Samaritan Center. Agnes died on August 1, 2005.Howard was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Erhard. He was also a member of the Fergus Falls Eagles. He enjoyed deer hunting and fishing when he was younger. Howard also enjoyed dancing and gardening.Howard, age 93, passed away on Friday, June 15, 2007, at the Good Samaritan Center in Pelican Rapids.Howard is survived by 2 sons: David (Patricia) Motz and Douglas (Lynette) Motz, both of Erhard; 9 grandchildren: Kerry (Valentin) Nava, Brian Motz, Karen (Aaron) Pederson, Bradley (Suzanne) Motz, Terry (Elizabeth) Motz, Gary (Nikki) Motz, Kimberly (Scott) Barthel, Shelly (Jessy) Houle and Angie Motz; 18 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Agnes; infant daughter; 2 brothers: Dan and Fred; and 5 sisters: Freda Senn, Helen Juvrud, Gladys Dale, Rose Marie Peterson and Grace Van Cleef.Blessed Be The Memory Of Howard Motz
