Edna Kind was born October 17, 1912 in Norwegian Grove Township near Pelican Rapids the daughter of Christ J. and Caroline (Lynnes) Kind, the eleventh child of twelve children. Edna worked a few years in Oregon during World War II in the shipyards and canneries. She was united in marriage with Wilbur G. Spring on December 13, 1947. She worked several places in Pelican Rapids and many years at the Cormorant Store, Cormorant Pub, and the Cornfield Cafe near Pelican Rapids. She worked until 2 weeks before her 80th birthday. Edna lived in Cormorant until December 2005 when she moved to Mill Pond View apartments in Pelican Rapids. She entered Pelican Valley Nursing Home in September 2006.Edna was a people person. She enjoyed her family and friends, loved the outdoors, animals (especially cats), her rose bushes and flowers, her chokecherry and apple tree. Edna was a very generous, good-hearted, fun loving person.Edna Spring, age 94, a resident of Pelican Rapids, Minnesota, died on Friday, June 29, 2007 at the Pelican Valley Nursing Home under the care of Lakeland Hospice.Edna is survived by 2 sisters-in-law: Myrtle (Carlton) Kind and Martha (Julian) Kind, both of Moorhead, MN; and many nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her husband: Wilbur; son: John; six brothers: Orville, Julian, Alvin, Clifford, Sanford, and Carlton; 5 sisters: Calma Hanson, Olga Rudie, Amy Berg, Gladys Aas, and Martha Severson.Blessed Be The Memory of Edna Spring
