Gene Walter Davis

Gene Walter Davis was born April 30, 1953, in Pelican Rapids, the son of Dallas and Ruth (Fick) Davis. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul's Loon Lake Lutheran Church, near Vergas, MN. Gene graduated from Pelican Rapids High School in 1971. After graduation he attended Jackson Vocational School and Wilmer Vocational School for Photography. On October 18, 1975, Gene was married to Andrienne Cowie at Hamar Lutheran Church in Rothsay, MN. Gene and Andrienne farmed near Lake Lida until 1990 when they purchased Maple Beach Resort on Lake Lida. Andrienne died on April 9, 2005. Gene continued operating Maple Beach Resort with Sarah and Molly until the present time.Gene was a man of few words and enjoyed listening to the Moody Blues and Willie Nelson. He was happiest when on Lake Lida fishing, but also enjoyed hunting, woodcarving, photography, playing pool and most recently, golf. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church.Gene Walter, age 54, passed away on Tuesday, July 3, 2007, at his home.Gene is survived by his two daughters: Sarah and Molly, both of Pelican Rapids; mother, Ruth Davis of Pelican Rapids; brother, Dean (Deborah) Davis of Apple Valley, MN; brother-in-law, Philip (Rita) Cowie of Pelican Rapids; 3 sisters-in-law: Jaime Paulson and Barb Peterson, both of Pelican Rapids, and Kathryn (Tim) Heroff of Rochester, MN; 4 nieces; 5 nephews; 3 great-nieces; 1 great-nephew; and many great friends.He was preceded in death by his wife, Andrienne; father, Dallas; brother, Allen; 2 brothers-in-law: Chuck Paulson and Willie Peterson.Blessed Be The Memory Of Gene Walter Davis
