David Emil Fodstad was born December 29, 1954, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, the son of Donald and Barbara Jean Lindorfer Fodstad. In 1972 David graduated from Irondale Senior High School in Mounds View, MN, where he was active in wrestling and football. David served in the United States Marine Corps from September 26, 1972 to September 25, 1974, also receiving a Meritorious Mast Citation as Lance Corporal. David was employed in his father?s business, Starlight Janitorial Service, from 1980 to 1987 in New Brighton, MN. On November 25, 1986 David was united in marriage to Valerie Fay Pederson in Detroit Lakes, MN. David and Valerie have lived in Dent since their marriage. David has been employed as a truck driver with Hough Transit Ltd of Fergus Falls, MN, Minn-Dak of Pelican Rapids, Nebco Evans Distribution of Plymouth, MN, Single Source Transportation of St. Cloud, MN, Stan Kock and Sons Trucking of Minneapolis, MN. For the past four and a half years until the current time David was employed with Penske Logistics of Roseville, MN. Since 1972 David loved playing the harmonica. He also loved to work on wood projects for others. He is a member of the V.F.W. Post #5252 and the Color Guard of Pelican Rapids.On Sunday, July 22, 2007 David passed away at his home at the age of 52 years. David is survived by his wife, Valerie of Dent, MN; 1 son: Jamie Lee Kulsrud of Dent; 2 daughters: Jessica Marie Kulsrud of Pelican Rapids, and Kelly Dawn Fodstad of Dent; 2 special grandchildren: Casey Joseph Kulsrud and Sophia Fay Kulsrud; mother: Barbara Fodstad of Beroun, MN; 3 brothers: Daniel (Patty) Fodstad of Dayton, MN, Dale (Debbie) Fodstad of Columbia Heights, MN, and Brian (Tracey) Fodstad of Fridley, MN; 4 sisters: Dorinda (Steve) Armstrong of Mounds View, Lori Coster of Phoenix, Arizona, Brenda McCallister of Elk River, MN, and Lenore (Troy) Malwitz of Eagle Bend, MN; father-in-law, Clifford Pederson of Pelican Rapids; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father; and grandparents: Charles and Anna Lindorfer, and Emil and Margaret Fodstad.Blessed Be The Memory of David Fodstad
