Dorothy Boe

Dorothy Boe, age 89, a resident of Pelican Rapids, Minnesota, died on Tuesday, November 20, 2007, at the Good Samaritan Center in Pelican Rapids, MN.Dorothy Margarite Champlin was born August 29, 1918, in Minneapolis, MN, the daughter of Matthew and Emilia (Johnson) Champlin. She grew up and attended school in Minneapolis where she graduated from Edison High School. On November 27, 1937 Dorothy was united in marriage to Clarence Boe in Minneapolis. Clarence and Dorothy lived in Mankato, MN, for one year before moving to Pelican Rapids in 1939. For numerous years Dorothy helped Clarence with the family dairy business. In 1967 Dorothy began Boe's Ceramics that she owned and operated in Pelican Rapids for 35 years. She was also an Avon Representative. In 1998 Clarence and Dorothy entered the Good Samaritan Center in Pelican Rapids. Clarence died on November 2, 2001. Dorothy enjoyed flower gardening. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Pelican Rapids.Dorothy was survived by her son, Allen (Lisa) Boe of Denver, CO; 4 grandchildren: Eric Boe, Mona (Wayne) Eastman, Nicol (Gordon) Johnson, and Nannette (Dennis) Roberg; 5 great-grandchildren: Michelle and Dawn Boe, Myka and Wayne Eastman, and Jordon Gosling; and numerous nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clarence; and sister, Lois Davis.
