Julius Albert Meidinger was born July 7, 1917, in Benson, South Dakota, the son of Fred and Karolina (Heib) Meidinger. Before his marriage Julius worked as a taxi cab driver in Fargo, North Dakota. On October 9, 1942 Julius was united in marriage to Margaret Van Erem at Grace Methodist Church in Moorhead, MN. The couple made their home in Minneapolis where Julius worked for Moline Tractor for numerous years. After retirement, they built a home on Tamarac Lake, near Pelican Rapids. In 1996 Julius and Margaret moved into Pelican Rapids. In August of 2001 Julius entered the Good Samaritan Center. After fracturing her hip in 2001, Margaret entered the Good Samaritan Center on September 11, 2001, and decided to stay there to be with Julius. Margaret died on October 31, 2007.Julius enjoyed fishing and music. He also enjoyed participating in the activities at the Good Samaritan Center, especially spending time outdoors.Julius, age 90, passed away on Saturday, February 16, 2008, at the Good Samaritan Center in Pelican Rapids, Minnesota.He is survived by his brother, Albert (Rose) Meidinger of Valley City, ND; sister, Alma Grasser of Washington; and numerous nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Margaret; 4 brothers; and 2 sisters.Blessed Be The Memory Of Julius Meidinger
