Alice Elaine Schulz was born February 7, 1931 in North Germany Township near Sebeka, Minnesota, the daughter of William and Frieda (Brockopp) Schulz. She grew up on a farm and attended school district #49 near Sebeka. In 1949 Alice graduated from Sebeka High School and then attended Park Rapids Teachers College. On July 11, 1954 she was united in marriage with John "Jack" Grabarkewitz at Zion Lutheran Church in Sebeka. Alice and Jack moved to Pelican Rapids, and Alice taught at rural schools near Elizabeth and Erhard, Minnesota. She was also a teacher?s aide in the elementary school in Pelican Rapids. After teaching Alice worked for Lakeland Properties as a real estate agent and worked for the census bureau, retiring in 1990. Alice was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Pelican Rapids for nearly 50 years. She enjoyed her flower and vegetable gardens.On Sunday, March 2, 2008 Alice died at the Good Samaritan Society in Pelican Rapids, Minnesota at the age of 77 years.Alice is survived by her husband, John "Jack"; son, Martin "Marty" (Sonia) Grabarkewitz, Fargo, ND; daughter, Merridee (Paul) Stein, Vienna, Austria; 2 grandchildren: Ian and Alana Grabarkewitz; 2 brothers: Bill (Jerri) Schulz, Elk River, MN, and Walter (Shirley) Schulz, Plymouth, MN; sister, Inez (Stan) Campbell, Eau Claire, Wisconsin; and numerous nieces and nephews.Alice was preceded in death by her parents, 2 sisters: Pearl Kreklau and Grace Christenson.Blessed Be The Memory Of Alice Grabarkewitz
