Grace Johnson, age 85, a resident of rural Erhard, Minnesota, died on Tuesday, June 3, 2008, at Innovis Health in Fargo, North Dakota.Grace Edna Kuik was born February 10, 1923 in Sherburne, MN, the daughter of John and Jantje (Stienstra) Kuik. She graduated from Barnesville High School. On December 22, 1942 Grace was united in marriage to Alvin L. Johnson in Moorhead, MN. Alvin and Grace made their home near Frazee where they worked on the George Miller farm for eight years. After moving to rural Elizabeth, Alvin farmed for the Ralph Skistad family and Grace worked at the Pioneer Home, Fergus Falls, in housekeeping for 33 years. After her retirement in 1992, Alvin and Grace moved to their current home near Erhard. Grace and Alvin celebrated 65 years of marriage in December 2007. Grace's greatest enjoyment was having big family get-togethers. She loved gardening and flowers. Her favorite flowers were tulips, geraniums and roses. She also enjoyed quilting and crocheting. Since July 1960 Grace and Alvin have been members of Augustana Lutheran Church in Elizabeth. Grace is survived by her husband, Alvin; seven children: Earl (Lora) Johnson of Stroud, Oklahoma, Mary Ann Halverson of Alexandria, MN, Jerry (Mary) Johnson of Fergus Falls, MN, Curtis (Kay) Johnson of Alexandria, Arlene (Mike) Hanson of Ada, MN, Alice Kast of Fergus Falls, David (Cindy) Johnson of Pelican Rapids; 26 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; her brother, Johnny (Erna) Kuik of Denver, Colorado; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Peter Kuik; 3 sisters: Katherine Glawe, Maartje Glawe, and Marie Kegley.Blessed Be The Memory Of Grace Johnson
