Alvin Isaacson, age 93, a resident of Pelican Rapids, Minnesota, died on Thursday, June 26, 2008 at the Good Samaritan Society of Pelican Rapids.Alvin Oscar Isaacson was born September 19, 1914 near Pelican Rapids,the son of Ole and Alvina Isaacson. When he was six years old, his father passed away separating the children to different family homes. Alvin was taken into the Otto Westby family home in Maplewood Township. As a young man, Alvin went to work as a farm hand in the New York Mills area. In the 1940s Alvin served in the United States Army. Due to medical reasons, Alvin served for only a brief period of time, receiving an honorable discharge. Later he moved to the Montevideo, MN, area. There he met Orda Muxter and on June 5, 1949 they were united in marriage, living in the Granite Falls area. In 1952 the couple moved to Minneapolis and later to the Riverhills Estates in Burnsville. Alvin worked for a large bread company in Hopkins, MN, retiring in the early 1980s. In April of 1998 Alvin and Orda moved to Pelican Rapids River Oaks Apartments. Orda died on July 1, 2001. In 2002 Alvin moved to an assisted living apartment and in 2004 entered the Good Samaritan Society of Pelican Rapids.Alvin enjoyed the ourdoors, horses, and livestock of all kinds.He also enjoyed going for a ride in the car to sight-see in the country, which was one of his most favorite things.He is survived by a niece and grandnieces; and numerous close friends.He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Orda; infant daughter, Lynn Marie; a brother, Gerhard Ike; and 2 sisters: Ida Lund and Olga Villalpando.Blessed Be The Memory Of Alvin Isaacson
