Rosella E. Woessner, age 88, passed away Wednesday, October 1, 2008, at the Good Samaritan Society in Pelican Rapids.Rosella was born on June 21, 1920, the daughter of Martin and Rose (Collins) Rice on the family farm near Nimrod, Minnesota.She was the eldest of twelve children.Rosella attended a one-room school outside of Nimrod. At a young age she cooked at Earl Hess sawmill, where she met Louis Woessner of Wadena, Minnesota. They were married on November. 30, 1938, in Wadena. The next 11 years they lived in the Pequot Lakes area. In 1950 the family moved to Fargo, North Dakota. Throughout the years Rosella was a homemaker, worked as a cook for NODAK Farm Store lunch counter, Pioneer Mutual coffee shop, deLaunderies coffee shop, and Fargo Public Schools Kitchen helper.In 2001 Rosella moved to the Good Samaritan Society of Pelican Rapids.She was an active member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Fargo. She volunteered many hours to Prairie Public TV, Bethany Homes gift shop, and anyone else that needed a helping hand.Rosella enjoyed knitting and crocheting, especially dish towels.She also enjoyed painting lawn ornaments that Louis built.She is survived by sons: Ben (Beverly) Woessner of Pelican Rapids, MN and Gary Woessner of White Bear Lake, MN; six grandchildren: Brenda Hanson of Pelican Rapids, Becky Woessner of Lakeville, MN, Bonnie Woessner of Denver, NC, Benjamin Woessner Jr. of Pelican Rapids, Tamara (Michael) Friederichs of Doran, MN, Gerald (Jackie) Woessner of Fargo, ND; six great-grandchildren: Krista Hanson, Kassidy Spicer, Korinne Spicer, Ethan Friederichs, Jonah Friederichs, and Jordan Woessner; four brothers: Mervin (Peggy) Rice, Hibbing, Norman (Lois) Rice, Shakopee, MN, Roger (Doreen) Rice, Hibbing, and Raymond (Regina) Rice, Saint Michael, MN; five sisters: Rosetta Lucas, Hibbing, Roseina Rice, Chisholm, MN, Noma Auel, Hibbing, Nola Renskers, Hibbing, and Iris Cole, Hibbing; daughter-in-law, Karen Woessner, Fargo, ND; and many nieces and nephews.Rosella is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Louis Woessner; daughter, Judy Hamilton; and two infant daughters; and two brothers of Hibbing, Minnesota.Blessed Be The Memory of Rosella Woessner.
