Daniel Shulstad

Daniel Shulstad, age 50, a resident of Pelican Rapids, Minnesota, died as a result of cancer, on Tuesday, October 14, 2008, at MeritCare Palliative Care Unit, Fargo, North Dakota.Daniel Paul Shulstad was born January 6, 1958, in Moorhead, Minnesota the son of Thomas and Ann Marie (Nelson) Shulstad. He was baptized at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Barnesville and was confirmed at North Immanuel Lutheran Church in rural Pelican Rapids. Danny graduated from Pelican Rapids High School in 1976. He furthered his education at the Wadena Tech School and then moved to Martin, South Dakota, where he worked in telephone communications. On December 27, 1977, Danny was united in marriage with Sue Miller. Sue joined Danny in Martin, SD, until1979, when they moved back to the Miller farm near Pelican Rapids. Danny dairy farmed from that time until presently.Danny loved spending time with family and friends especially during the holidays. He enjoyed many hobbies: NASCAR, cooking, hunting, parties, gardening and playing cards. Talented and with a passion for carpentry, he built his family home and family lake home. Danny will be remembered for his sense of humor.Danny is survived by his wife; son, Joe and daughter, Katie both of Pelican Rapids; parents, Thomas and Ann Marie Shulstad, Pelican Rapids; six siblings: Tom (Jane) Shulstad, Pelican Rapids, Karl (Pat) Shulstad, Pelican Rapids, Sheila (Russell) Emerson, West Fargo, North Dakota, Philip (Robbie) Shulstad, Pelican Rapids, Jackie (Mark) Scott, Pelican Rapids, David (Christie) Shulstad, Pelican Rapids; mother-in-law Helen Miller; numerous nieces and nephews and three great-nieces.Danny was preceded in death by father-in-law Joseph "Joe" Miller.Blessed Be The Memory of Daniel Shulstad
