Clifford "Vernon" Mostue

Vernon Mostue, age 93, a resident of Pelican Rapids, Minnesota, died on Monday, January 5, 2009, at Lake Region Hospital in Fergus Falls, Minnesota, surrounded by his family.Clifford Vernon Mostue was born May 3, 1915, in Erhards Grove Township, Minnesota, the son of Andrew and Anna (Jordahl) Mostue.He attended school at District #35 and was confirmed in Bagstevold Church in Erhard.On September 29, 1940, Vernon was united in marriage to Dora Rust in Pelican Rapids.They resided in Pelican Rapids their entire married life.Vernon worked for the Otter Tail County Highway Department for 42 years, retiring in 1979.He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Pelican Rapids.Family and friends were important to him and he enjoyed spending time with them.He was always there to lend a helping hand whenever he could.His favorite hobby was woodworking and he spent many hours in his shop on various projects.He took particular pride in his vehicles over the years.Vernon is survived by his wife, Dora; daughter, Betty (LeRoy) Rheault, West Fargo, ND; son, Arlan (Sylvia) Mostue, Fargo, ND; two brothers: Telford (Lois) Mostue and Orville (Marna) Mostue, Denver, CO; sister, Wilma Wenholm, Pelican Rapids, MN; two step-brothers: Charles (Nadine) Broom and Joe Broom, Denver, CO; sisters-in-law: Frances Huseby, Alice Mostue and Norma Rust, Pelican Rapids, MN, Arlene Rust, Granada, CA; 7 grandchildren:Jennifer (David) Blagg, Yankton, SD, Lynn (Greg) Schroeder, Hawley, MN, Ann Malstrom, West Fargo, ND, Scott (Brook) Mostue and Ryan Mostue, Shakopee, MN, Sherri (Ray) Cote, West Fargo, ND, Mark (Karman) Rheault, Moorhead, MN; 13 great grandchildren:EmaLee, Heide and Mattie Blagg, Michael and Matthew Schroeder, Gavin and Jaden Mostue, Nick Hoadley, Amber and Brandon Cote, Syler, Caiden and Zenna Rheault; and many nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Arthur Mostue; sister, Minnie Granrud; and step-sister, Mary McMullen.Blessed Be the Memory of Vernon Mostue
