Anne Bakken, age 75, died on Saturday, May 23, 2009, at her home in Pelican Rapids, Minnesota.Anne Louise Benson was born September 1, 1933, in Detroit, Michigan, the daughter of James and Louise (Ohman) Benson.In 1951, Anne graduated from Walled Lake High School, Walled Lake, Michigan.She moved to Pelican Rapids and worked at J.P. Wallace State Bank.On June 30, 1953, she was united in marriage to Ferdinand Bakken at the Grove Lake Lutheran Church parsonage in Pelican Rapids.She lovingly raised their family in Pelican Rapids.She began to sell Avon beauty products which she sold for over 35 years.She also worked as a bookkeeper for numerous businesses in Pelican Rapids.Anne was a member of Grove Lake Lutheran Church. She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, trivia, playing bingo, and playing cards with friends. Anne took pleasure in spending time with her family and grandchildren.Anne is survived by her husband of 55 years, Ferdinand; three sons: Robin Bakken, Circle Pines, MN, Timothy (Julie) Bakken, Battle Lake, MN, Lee (Jill) Bakken, Underwood, MN; two daughters: Sheila (Dan) Saurer, Underwood, MN, Trudy (John) Gorton, Pelican Rapids, MN; 12 grandchildren:Ryan Bakken, Lori Bakken, Angela (Shawn) Leitch, Tanya (Billy) Gronwold, Jeremy Bakken, Brody Bakken, Kale Bakken, Janelle (Wayne) Krump, Jodi Saurer, Luke Saurer, Blaine Gorton, Jay Gorton; four great-grandchildren:Ben Krump, Will Gronwold, Ethan Gronwold, Abigail Gronwold; and numerous nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Louise Benson; and sister, Kay Heusser.Blessed Be The Memory Of Anne Bakken
