Willis Scheer, age 81, died on Thursday, May 28, 2009, at Lake Region Hospital in Fergus Falls, Minnesota.Willis Alexander Scheer was born on June 10, 1927 in Erhard, MN, the son of William and Julia (Lemke) Scheer.Willis graduated from Pelican Rapids High School in 1945.On September 28, 1947 he was united in marriage to Phyllis Brandt at the Bagstevold Lutheran Church in Erhard.He farmed his entire life eventually owning and operating the family farm, beginning as a dairy operation and eventually becoming a hog operation.Willis retired from farming in 1995, but continued to drive tractor for Fabian Brothers.Willis was a lifetime member of Grace Lutheran Church in Erhard, formerly Bagstevold Lutheran Church, being active in their church council.He was on the Bagstevold and Zion Cemetery Boards.He was also a member of the NFO (National Farmers Organization).Willis was on both, the Erhard Creamery and Erhard Elevator boards, along with the Erhards Grove Township board.Willis was a member of the Erhard baseball team, enjoyed coin collecting, and cheering on the Twins.He enjoyed his mornings with, the Erhard Store Good Morning Coffee Club.Willis is survived by his wife, Phyllis, Erhard, MN; one daughter: Renee (Brian) Shores, Fergus Falls, MN; three sons: Steven (Vicki) Scheer, Erhard, MN, Scott Scheer, Erhard, MN, Shannon Scheer, Erhard, MN; seven grandchildren: Tracy (Greg) Williams, Shawn Scheer, Sheri Scheer, Wendy (Chris) Stoll, Stacy Scheer, Lisa (Andy) Miller, Nichole Scheer; eight great-grandchildren: Justin Williams, Nicholas Williams, Celeste Stoll, Jace Kalis, Austin Stoll, Jesse Scheer-Lyman, Jaden Miller, Mia Rivers; two brothers: Grant (Marilyn) Scheer, Audubon, MN, Wally (Jean) Scheer, Plymouth, MN; two sisters: Arlys (Earl) Johnson, Fergus Falls, MN, Shirley (Stanley) Motchenbacker, Forest Lake, MN; and numerous nieces and nephews.He was preceeded in death by his parents, William and Julia Scheer; three brothers: Leonard, Donald, and Russell; and two sisters: Ethel Thompson and LaRayne Johnston.Blessed Be The Memory Of Willis Scheer
