Verona Rollie, age 77, a resident of Pelican Rapids, Minnesota, died on Saturday, July 11, 2009, at Pelican Valley Nursing Home in Pelican Rapids, Minnesota.Verona Beth Johnson was born June 9, 1932, in Pelican Rapids, Minnesota, the daughter of Victor and Lottie (Hanson) Johnson.Verona was baptized and confirmed at Central Lutheran Church, rural Pelican Rapids.She graduated from Pelican Rapids High School in 1950.Upon graduation, she worked for Dr. Korda in Pelican Rapids as a medical receptionist.On July 28, 1951, Verona was united in marriage to Richard Rollie. For several years Verona ran a daycare in her home for two children very special to her; Susan (Heusser) Ladwig and Darren Westby.Her four children were her pride and joy; while raising her family she also owned and operated with her husband, Johnson-Richards Flooring, until 1997 when they sold the business and retired.Verona was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.She was active in church circle, choir and taught Sunday school. She enjoyed sewing and reading.Verona excelled at being a mom and grandma. She loved to organize family outings and daily activities.Verona is survived by her husband, Richard; two sons: Thomas (Charlotte) Rollie, Harpers Ferry, IA, and Daniel (Patricia) Rollie, Erhard, MN; two daughters:Cheryl (Lee) Brenna, Pelican Rapids, MN, and Lynn (Robert) Lundquist, Pelican Rapids, MN; daughter-in-law, Beth Rollie, St. Paul, MN; ten grandchildren: Andrew Rollie, Emily Rollie, Justin Rollie, Alicia Rollie, Erik Rollie, Katie (Jared) Drevecky, Sarah Brenna, Jessica (Brian) Doty, Rebekah (Micah) Johnson, and Zachary Lundquist; two great-grandchildren: Chase and Cormac; sisters-in-law: Bernice Aanerud, Rose Rollie, Audrey Westby, Darlene (Butch) Bylander, Rhoda Johnson and Agnes Johnson; and many nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her parents, Victor and Lottie; sister, Lucille Georgine; two brothers:Everett and Virgil; granddaughter, Jennifer Ann; and great-grandsons:Forrest Aaron and Christian Connor.Blessed Be The Memory Of Verona Rollie
