Harold Engebretson

Harold V. Engebretson, age 82, a resident of Pelican Rapids, Minnesota, died Monday, October 5, 2009, at his residence in Pelican Rapids with his family at his side.Harold Vernon Engebretson was born November 3, 1926, in Tansem Township near Rollag, Minnesota, the son of Einar and Anna (Huseby) Engebretson.He was baptized on December 5, 1926, and confirmed in 1941 at Pelican Valley Lutheran Church.Harold graduated from Pelican Rapids High School in 1945.He served in the U.S. Army during WWII from 1945 to 1947.Upon his return to Pelican Rapids he worked for various construction companies.On June 26, 1948, he was united in marriage to Marjorie Herzog in Pelican Rapids.Harold owned and operated Engebretson Plumbing and Heating from 1958 until his retirement.Harold was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and V.F.W. Post #5252.He was a volunteer fireman and taught firearm safety in Pelican Rapids.Harold enjoyed hunting, golfing, fishing and backyard cookouts with family and friends.Harold is survived by his wife, Marjorie, Pelican Rapids, MN; his children:Kathryn (Terrance) Russ, Pelican Rapids, MN, Judith (Terry Heller) Engebretson, Pelican Rapids, MN; Barbara Lein, Burnsville, MN, Scott (Cheryl) Engebretson, Yorktown, VA, Sharon Engebretson, Lakeville, MN; 12 grandchildren:Michelle, Mike, Eric, Kirk, Allysha, Ashley, Tiffany, Sonja, Lance, Luke, Stephen, and Madison; 14 great-grandchildren; sister, Adelynn Cook, St. Cloud, MN; brothers:Erling Engebretson Prineville, OR, and Orland (Marlys) Engebretson, Detroit Lakes, MN; and numerous nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents, Einar and Anna; granddaughter, Annie Peterson; brothers:Clifford, Ellis, Raymond and Lorry; and sisters:Esmer Restad and Marion Nelson.Blessed Be The Memory Of Harold Engebretson
