William Bill Grahn, age 79, a resident of Pelican Rapids, Minnesota, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, November 24, 2009, at the Good Samaritan Home in Pelican Rapids. William Calmer Grahn was born March 30, 1930, in Pelican Rapids, Minnesota, the son of George and Emma (Bakke) Grahn. He was baptized and confirmed at Central Lutheran Church in rural Pelican Rapids.Bill grew up on the family farm near Lake Lida and attended country school district #156 North of Pelican Rapids.He enlisted in the United States Marines on October 12, 1951, serving in Korea, and was discharged on October 11, 1953.He returned home to farm with his father, he also worked as a carpenter and worked at Flatins and Johnsons mink ranches for many years until his retirement in 1989.For the past three years, Bill was a resident of the Good Samaritan Home in Pelican Rapids.Bill loved to fish, hunt and garden, and he was very good a making lefse.He was a member of the V.F.W. Post 5252 in Pelican Rapids.Bill is survived by his sisters, Marjorie Hanson, Pelican Rapids, MN; Avis Fresonke, Dent, MN; one brother, Lloyd (Nancy) Grahn, Grey Eagle, MN; nieces and nephews; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Emma; sister, Delores Toso; brothers-in-law:Gilman Toso, Jarhl Hanson, and Erv Fresonke; and his beloved dog of 14 years, Dusty.Blessed Be The Memory Of Bill Grahn
