George Haslach, age 91, a resident of Pelican Rapids, Minnesota, died Wednesday, January 27, 2010, in Pelican Rapids at Pelican Valley Nursing Home. George Thomas Haslach was born October 3, 1918, in Maple Grove, Minnesota, the son of Charles and Janet (LaValle) Haslach.He was baptized and confirmed at St. Vincents de Paul Catholic Church in Osseo.On November 26, 1943, George was united in marriage to Marie Emma Gruidl at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Minneapolis. George served as a Gunners Mate 3rd Class in the Navy from 1942-1946 during World War II. Upon returning from the war, he worked as a mechanic at the Texaco Station in Osseo for several years.For over 40 years, George was employed at Red Owl in Hopkins, working in their warehouse until he retired in 1980. After he retired, they moved to Pelican Rapids.George was a member of Grove Lake Lutheran Church in Pelican Rapids, St. Pauls Lutheran Church in Osseo, and the Fargo Harley-Davidson H.O.G. Chapter 3590. He enjoyed motorcycles, hunting, and his dog, Toby.He took pleasure in spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.George is survived by his wife, Marie; his children:Allen (Krista) Haslach, Brooklyn Park, MN, Kay (Roger) Evenson, Pelican Rapids, MN, Becky (Don) Radtke, Pelican Rapids, MN, and January (Bill) Stefano, Elk River, MN; fourteen grandchildren:Jarrett (Racquel) Leadens, Katrina (Kevin) Kolasa, Jamie (Jason) Bischoff, Renee (Tom) White, Samantha Evenson, Lisa (Chad) Zastrow, Jesse (Janine) Haslach, Sally (Ray) Roberts, Allison Haslach, Jeremy (Jessica) Radtke, Nicole Radtke, Christie Radtke, Ellie Stefano, and Ryan Stefano; nine great-grandchildren:Wyatt, Morgan, Rhett, Kole, Kodi, Madison, Jacob, Kaden, and Weston; one sister, Marvel Sturman, Maple Grove, MN; and many nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Janet; his sister, Marie Berg.Blessed Be The Memory Of George Haslach
