Arline Lundhagen, age 82, a resident of Pelican Rapids, Minnesota, died on Tuesday, March 30, 2010.She passed away comfortably in the company of family and the wonderful nurses and staff at Lake Region Hospital, in Fergus Falls, Minnesota.She moved on to her dream of joining the throng of Heavenly angels.Arline Estelle Ruud was born May 1, 1927, in Pelican Rapids Village, Minnesota, the first child of George and Pearl (Moen) Ruud.She grew to womanhood in the Pelican Rapids community and graduated from Pelican Rapids High School in 1944.In two short years she received her teaching credential from Moorhead State Teachers College and took her first elementary school teaching position at Melrose, Minnesota.She obtained her Masters Degree from the University of Minnesota, Duluth, in 1967.Through the years she taught in many Minnesota towns before spending her last teaching years back home in Pelican Rapids.Along the way there were teaching positions in Bagley, Ulen, Detroit Lakes, Albert Lea, Austin and Moorhead. As a teacher, Arline positively touched many lives during those years.On June 28, 1969, Arline married Norman Lundhagen at Trinity Lutheran Church in Pelican Rapids.Norman was a home builder and Arline taught at Viking Elementary school in Pelican Rapids.After retirement they spent many winters in Arizona. In October of 2006, Arline moved into Riverfront Manor in Pelican Rapids.Norman is currently a resident of Pelican Valley Nursing Home.Arline was a much loved wife, sister, aunt, teacher and friend.She enjoyed special relationships with niece, Cathie, of Colorado Springs, and nephew, Paul, of Telluride, Colorado.Arline was active in her church and a leader or member of many Bible Study groups over the years.Arline had many interests including golf, bowling, and working with many charities.She particularly enjoyed entertaining friends and family while always displaying a great sense of humor.She will be missed by her beloved cat, Scamper.Arline is survived by her husband, Norman; and two brothers: Stan Ruud, Kent, WA, and Paul Ruud, Auburn, CA; many nieces and nephews; and other family members and many friends.She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Pearl.We certainly mourn the loss of a dear wife, sister, aunt and friend, but we also celebrate a most meaningful and fulfilled life that has been an example for us all.Blessed Be The Memory Of Arline Lundhagen
