James Anderson, age 64, a resident of Tamarac Lake near Pelican Rapids, Minnesota, died on Monday, June 14, 2010, at his home with his family by his side.James Anderson was born May 27, 1946, in Minneapolis, MN the son of Bjarne and Genevieve Anderson.James grew up in Minneapolis where he was involved in scouting and acted as a boyscout his entire life.He served from 1963 to 1967 in the U.S. Marine Corps and was a member of the 364th Marine Medium Helicopter Squadron, the Purple Foxes.James served in the Vietnam War and the Dominican Republic Crisis and was honorably discharged as a Sergeant. On March 1,1969 James was united in marriage with Maria Illena Martinez.After leaving the Marine Corps James worked for Dictaphone Corporation in Minneapolis and in Fargo.In 1977 James started Anderson Construction near Pelican Rapids.In 2005 his son, James Jr., joined his father and became a partner.James retired from construction in April of 2008.James was the Scambler township clerk for over 20 years.Jim loved pheasant hunting, water fights with his grandchildren, Oskar and Ansel, and building homes.He loved building and the people he met through his work.He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend.Jim is survived by his loving wife, Maria Illena, Pelican Rapids; two daughters: Marie Anderson, Moorhead, and Theresa, West Fargo; son, James (Jill Bergren) Anderson Jr.; mother, Genevieve, Minneapolis; grandchildren, Oskar and Ansel; four sisters: Beth Bachman, Minneapolis, Yvonne (Scott) Denzer, Luck, WI, Carolyn (Terry) Howe, St. Paul, Mary (Todd) Anderson, Richfield; brother, Robert (Lydia) Anderson, Oceanside, CA; two sisters-in-law: Marian (Jerry) Blair and Valerie Piet; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and cherished friends.He will be sorely missed by all.James was preceded in death by his father, Bjarne Anderson and his brother, Donald.Memorials preferred to Lakeland Hospice or Roger Maris Cancer Center.Blessed Be The Memory of James Anderson
