Louise Ophus, age 79, a resident of Pelican Rapids, Minnesota, died on Thursday, July 1, 2010, at Pelican Valley Nursing Home in Pelican Rapids.Louise Harriet Ophus was born at home on September 7, 1930, in Pelican Township, Minnesota, the daughter of Lawrence and Agnes (Monson) Ophus.She grew up on a farm near Pelican Rapids.As a youth, Louise, along with her family, participated in 4-H.Louise graduated from Pelican Rapids High School in 1948.She moved to Minneapolis for a period of time, working for Federal Reserve Bank.Louise moved back to the family farm and lived there with her dad, brother, and sister.After her dad passed away, she assisted her brother, Howard, on the farm.Louise worked at the bank in Pelican Rapids (presently known as Wells Fargo) for over 45 years.She saw the bank through four different owners and an abundance of technological advances.Louise was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.She was active in circle at church and in the Farmers Club.She served on the board for Pelican Valley Cemetery for a number of years.She enjoyed the casino in Mahnomen, fishing, and traveling.Louise is survived by nieces: Ann Marie Jones, Las Vegas, NV, and Bernice (Tim) Overland, Fergus Falls, MN; nephews: Lyle (Julie) Jones, Pelican Rapids, MN, and Doyle (Jodi) Tollefson, Monticello, MN; brother-in-law, Lyman Jones; 3 great-nieces and 3 great-nephews.She was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Agnes; brother, Howard; sisters:Aurlette Tollefson and Shirley Jones; and brother-in-law, Everette Tollefson.Blessed Be The Memory Of Louise Ophus
