Marion Rosie Peterson, age 77, a resident of Pelican Rapids, Minnesota, died on Monday, August 30, 2010, under the care of Hospice of Red River Valley at her daughters home in Lake Park, Minnesota, with a granddaughter at her side.Marion Rosella Rosie Engebretson was born May 8, 1933, in Pelican Rapids, Minnesota, the daughter of Olavus Olaf and Inga (Stephenson) Engebretson.Rosie was baptized and confirmed at Pelican Valley Lutheran Church.She attended school in Pelican Rapids.On April 13, 1950, Rosie was united in marriage to Richard Anderson in Webster, South Dakota.Together they had three daughters.Richard preceded her in death on January 3, 1979.Rosie married Allan Peterson in Sisseton, South Dakota, on November 6, 1979.Rosie was employed by ORD Industries and West Central Turkeys in Pelican Rapids.She also worked in both the clinic and nursing home of Pelican Valley Health Center until retiring in 1996.Allan preceded her in death on October 9, 2003.Rosie enjoyed playing bingo, bird watching, grilling, watching Pelican Rapids basketball, reading, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.She was a member of Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church and the American Legion Auxiliary.Rosie is survived by her daughters:Betty (Harlan) Tingelstad, Pelican Rapids, MN, Vicky (Ron Dahring) Ballard, Lake Park, MN, and Sue (Roy) Hoadley, Pelican Rapids, MN; 7 grandchildren:Jeff (Kelly) Olson-Tingelstad, Teresa (Brad) Maczkowicz, Michele (Jawaan Collins) Jensen, Jeremy (Nicole) Ballard, Heather (Josh Thorsvig) Salinas, Josh (Kate Brown) Hoadley, and Jenny Hoadley; 12 great-grandchildren; a sister, Lillian Bergquist, Detroit Lakes, MN; a brother, Harold Engebretson, Osakis, MN; 2 brothers-in-law:Dale (Jackie) Peterson and David Peterson; a mother-in-law, Hilda Peterson; and many nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her parents, Olaf Engebretson and Inga Brusven; step-father, Henry Brusven; husbands: Richard Anderson and Allan Peterson; 3 infant children; a brother, Oscar Engebretson; and a sister, Minnie Peterson.Blessed Be The Memory Of Rosie Peterson
