Evean Holt, age 83, a resident of Fergus Falls, Minnesota, formerly of Pelican Rapids, died on Friday, September 17, 2010, at Broen Memorial Home in Fergus Falls.Evean Rodell Anderson was born July 15, 1927, in Pelican Rapids, Minnesota, the daughter of Peter and Thelma (Halbakken) Anderson.She attended District 78 country school and later attended Pelican Rapids High School.Evean worked in Duluth and Thief River Falls before moving back to Pelican Rapids to work on the family farm.On December 29, 1950, Evean was united in marriage to Lawrence Holt at the North Immanuel Lutheran Church parsonage in Pelican Rapids.Evean and Lawrence farmed together and she continued to help on her parents farm.Lawrence preceded Evean in death on June 26, 1984.Evean retired from farming and moved to Fergus Falls in 1994.She entered the Broen Memorial Home in September 2009.Evean was passionate about farming; above all, she loved her dairy cattle.Evean enjoyed gardening, making lawn ornaments, and spending time with her grandchildren.She took pleasure in cooking for her family; they will miss in particular her meatballs, scalloped potatoes, buns, and caramel rolls.Evean was a member of North Immanuel Lutheran Church and took part in ladies aid, and ELCW.She will be missed by her special dog, Lexy.Evean is survived by her children:Linda Lancaster, Fergus Falls, MN, Patricia (Byron) Nelson, Pelican Rapids, MN, Bonnie (Bill) Erickson, Fargo, ND, and Jeff (Julie Ann) Holt, Pelican Rapids, MN; 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren:Glen Swenson and daughter, Kelsey; Melissa Flerchinger and daughter, Jordan; Stacy (Kurt) Hughes and children, Dana, Chase, and Jaden; Jason Nelson; Keith Nelson; James (Jessica) Dahl and children, Brianna, Samantha, and Brenden; Kathryn (Joel) Erickson and daughters, Taylor and Natalie; Kevin (Katy) Holt and twins, Kaden and Kylee; Scott (Carrie) Holt; Todd (Ashley) Holt; a great-great-grandson, Jadon; a brother, Clifford Anderson, Pelican Rapids, MN; a sister, Jean (Vic) Hitter, Pelican Rapids, MN; and many nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her parents, Peter and Thelma; her husband, Lawrence; grandson, Gregory Holt; and son-in-law, Gordon Lancaster.Blessed Be The Memory Of Evean Holt
