George Holtgrewe, age 80, a resident of rural Detroit Lakes, Minnesota, died on Tuesday, November 2, 2010, at his residence.George Herman Holtgrewe was born August 6, 1930, in Dwight, North Dakota, the son of George and Martha Holtgrewe.As a young man, George worked for the railroad while living in Breckenridge, Minnesota.He was stationed in France while serving in the United States Army.On June 26, 1954, George was united in marriage to Alberta Baker in Breckenridge.In 1959, they moved to rural Detroit Lakes, Minnesota.George worked for Gibb & Sons in Fargo, North Dakota, as a sheet metal worker.In 1992, he retired from Sheet Metal Workers Local #10.George was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Pelican Rapids.He enjoyed woodworking, reading, hunting, fishing, gardening and spending time with his boys.George is survived by his wife, Alberta; his sons: James (Therese) Holtgrewe, Eldersburg, MD, and Dan (Renee) Holtgrewe, Pelican Rapids, MN; two granddaughters:Paige and Hannah Holtgrewe; a brother, Charles Holtgrewe, Detroit Lakes, MN; and many nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Martha; sister, Katie; and brothers, Hank and Ben.Blessed Be The Memory Of George Holtgrewe
