Frances Huseby

Frances Huseby, age 96, a resident of Pelican Rapids, Minnesota, died on Monday, December 27, 2010, at Good Samaritan Society of Pelican Rapids.Frances Evelyn Rust was born September 2, 1914, in Gary, Minnesota, the daughter of Hans and Aletha (Syverson) Rust. On February 1, 1936, she was united in marriage to Conrad Huseby in Pelican Rapids. They farmed in Tansem Township near Rollag until 1945, when they moved to Prairie View Township near Rothsay. Frances also cleaned homes in the Fargo-Moorhead area. In October of 1988, they moved to Pelican Rapids. Conrad died December 7, 1989.Frances was a member of Little Bethany Church, ladies aid, circle, birthday club, and the Rothsay and Pelican Rapids Senior Citizens. She enjoyed puzzles, games, and playing various musical instruments. She took pleasure in visiting with family and friends and spending time at the lake. Frances was always smiling and laughed often, especially when joking around with her family.Frances is survived by two sons: LeRoy (Marge) Huseby, Moorhead, MN, Erwin (Deb) Huseby, Fargo, ND; five daughters: Ardis Stronstad, Hawley, MN, Irene (Arden) Shores, Grand Forks, ND, Connie (Terry) Hauger, Vergas, MN, Sandra Scott, Rothsay, MN, and Julie (Lowell) Balk, Walcott, ND; son-in-law, Donnie Melaas, Fergus Falls, MN; 30 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Dora Mostue, Pelican Rapids, MN; and many nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her parents, Hans and Aletha; husband, Conrad; daughter, Delores Melaas; two grandchildren: Brenda Melaas and Heidie Hauger; a sister, Edna Bakken; and four brothers: Orlando, Elmer, Henry, and Art.
