James Kekaha

James Kekaha, age 66, a resident of Pelican Rapids, Minnesota, formerly of Harrison, Arkansas, died on Friday, April 29, 2011, at his son's home in Pelican Rapids.James Leslie Kekaha was born July 31, 1944, in Detroit, Michigan, the son of Samuel and Edna (Wilson) Kekaha. James grew up in Detroit, Michigan. Then he moved to California where he worked in construction as a homebuilder until 2005. On May 18, 1996, James was united in marriage to Linda Hill in Las Vegas, Nevada. In 2008, James and Linda moved to Harrison, Arkansas. On April 20, 2011, James and Linda moved to Pelican Rapids to be with their son and his family.He enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, golfing, and woodworking.He was a member of Kalepa O Kaleponie Golf League in Ventura, California.James is survived by his wife, Linda Kekaha, Pelican Rapids, MN; three sons: Kimo (Lori) Kekaha, Pelican Rapids, MN, Stacey (Elizabeth) Johnson, Pea Ridge, AR, and John (Heather) Johnson, Ventura, CA; a daughter, Dawn (Danny) Baker, Fort Worth, TX; 12 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; brothers: Samuel (Lois) Kekaha, Jr., Harrison, AR, and Robert (Irene) Kekaha, Baldwin Park, CA; brother-in-law, Tom Fischer; and nieces and nephews.
